Mrs. Hunter has been with the Performing Arts Program at O’Neill CVI for the last twelve years, and previously taught music at the elementary level to students in grades 1-8. With a focus in instrumental music classes, Mrs. Hunter also directs both concert bands, jazz ensembles and the brass ensemble.


Growing up surrounded by Salvation Army Brass Bands, Mrs. Hunter naturally gravitated towards this genre of music, focusing on Tuba Performance and Music Education whilst at university. After earning her Honours in Music Education from the University of Toronto, she completed a Bachelor of Education degree at Nipissing University.


Mrs. Hunter has been actively involved in the local music community, previously participating in such ensembles as the Whitby Brass Band, Intrada Brass, and Weston Silver Band. Along with performing, she also enjoys time with her two children and playing on various sports teams.
